IMPORTANT: DAY OF INFO!

Dress Code

In short - there is none. This is NOT a formal wedding. There is no ceremony. It is a party, and your are free to dress accordingly - however you will feel comfortable and happy throughout the day!

We are recommending "Summer Weekend at the Cape". Nice shorts or jeans, polo shirts or short sleeve button downs, sun dresses, capri pants, etc. We simply ask for no graphic t-shirts or ripped clothing.

The grooms will be in nice shorts, polo shirts, and blazers.

Schedule of Activities

Weather

"Rain on your wedding day is good luck."

~Some random couple who had their outdoor wedding rained out.

Let's just say, it's not looking pretty for us. The good news is, much of the daytime activities are indoors, or under cover, so that should be fine.

The evening on the other hand... well, animals live through mother nature's tears, and so will we. Bring your umbrellas and rain coats if you want to experience the outdoor animals at the zoo!

While we have a covered and sided pavilion in the zoo for the evening's activities, there is still an outdoor walk to get back to it. You'll likely want umbrella's for that.

We've worked with the zoo to make sure there will be as many indoor/covered activities as possible, with each having a member of the animal care team present to answer questions. These will include:

*Elephant Pavilion

*Rainforest Pavilion

*Farm Animals Building

*World of Adaptations Building

In addition, the armadillo encounter from 6:15 PM - 7:15 PM will take place under cover.

Logistics

Casino Parking:

There is a lot able to accommodate approximately 100 cars immediately outside the Roger Williams Park Casino, so there should be no issues with parking. If need be, street parking along the road is also permitted in marked areas.

Getting From the Casino to the Zoo:

The walk along the highlighted root in the map below between the Casino Building and the Zoo is a lovely 0.6 walk on a nice day, or 0.6 mile drive on a what will seemingly be a rainy evening. The choice is yours...

Parking at the Roger Williams Park Zoo:

There is an ample parking lot just outside the main entrance to the zoo. With the zoo being closed to the public for the evening in honor of this event, there should be no concerns with parking.

Getting From the Zoo Entrance to the Party Pavilion

Walk along the main walkway past the Lower Savanna keeping right toward the Upper Savanna and Elephant Enclosure before forking left, and then almost immediately right around the Wild Woodlands. You'll reach the Party Pavilion just before entering the Himalayan Trek.

Party Time!

Celebrate the wedding of Dean & Ryan with a day of festivities!

photo

While we will have already gotten married a few months earlier on the Mediterranean cruise, we know many who would have liked to be part of the ceremony were not able to attend.

As such, we are thrilled to be hosting a casual local reception for our family and friends to join us in celebrating our nuptials!

Whether you can make it for the relaxed afternoon in the park, the evening in the zoo, or both, we hope to see you all for this day filled with food, fun, games, and lots of animals!

We want this day to be fun and casual!

This is meant to be a celebration, and we see no better way to bring that to life than to gather all of the people we love in an environment that encourages exploration and relaxation.

Ditch the trappings of a typical wedding. Leave your fancy clothes and dancing shoes at home. Throw on your shorts and t-shits, capri pants and polo shirts, or whatever your favorite comfy outdoor summer outfit is and kick back to have some fun with us!

An Afternoon in the Park!

Take time in the afternoon to walk the grounds of the beautiful Roger Williams Park!

We'll provide the food, drinks, and a home base at the Casino for you to leave your belongs and come cool off. You take the afternoon to visit with us while also exploring all that the park has to offer! We are happy to provide recommendations and share some of our favorite spots in the park, or open the map, point at a spot and head off. Whether venturing through the many gardens, taking a ride on the carrousel, walking the trails, paddling a swan boat on the lake, or just kicking back and enjoying the scenery at the Temple to Music, you can't go wrong anywhere in this gem of a public park!

An Evening in the Zoo

Afterwards, spend the evening wandering the many exhibits of the Roger Williams Park Zoo!

We'll have the entire zoo to ourselves for three hours, so this is your chance to get up close to all the amazing animals on exhibit. We'll once again provide a base in the middle of the space for you to relax with some food and drinks while providing the chance for you to enjoy the furry (and not so furry) creatures in the many habitats scattered throughout the zoo. Rumor has it you may even get to pet an armadillo...

After enjoying the day and night around the "jewel of providence", we'll all gather back together to raise a glass in celebration of the next chapter in our lives!
